We recognize that some of the smaller/local organizations may not currently have enough staff or volunteers to participate successfully at the statewide level. Therefore, since November 2006, PCL has arranged in district meetings with representatives from the California Legislature and local environmental leaders and non-profits.
The goals of the legislative meetings are three fold. First, we allow the Legislator to share his/her environmental interests and priorities. Second, we allow the local participants a brief opportunity to provide an update on their particular organization or local issue. Third, we re-affirm that PCL staff will continues its role at the statewide level, but also maintain a connection between the Legislator and the local organizations.
