  Jan. 1 Statutes take effect (Art. IV, Sec. 8(c)).
  Jan. 5

Legislature reconvenes (J.R. 51(a)(4)).

  Jan. 10

Budget must be submitted to the Governor

  Jan. 19 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day observed.
  Jan. 30 Last day to submit bill requests to the Office of Legislative Counsel.
                    
  Feb. 11

Lincoln's Birthday observed.

  Feb. 16 Washington's Birthday observed
  Feb. 27 Last day for bills to be introduced (J.R. 61(b)(4),(J.R.54(a)).
     
  Mar. 30 Cesar Chavez Day observed.
     
  Apr. 2 Spring recess begins at end of this day’s session (J.R. 51(a)(2)).
  Apr. 13

Legislature reconvenes from Spring Recess (J.R. 51(a)(2)).

     
  May 1 Last day for policy committees to meet and report to Fiscal Committees fiscal bills introduced in their houses (J.R. 61(b)(5)).
  May 15 Last day for policy committees to meet and report to the floor non-fiscal bills introduced in their house (J.R. 61(b)(6)).
  May 22 Last day for policy committees to meet prior to June 2 (J.R. 61(b)(7)). bills (J.R. 61(a)(3)).
  May 25 Memorial Day observed.
  May 29 Last day for fiscal committees to meet and hear reports to the floor bills introduced in their house (J.R. 61 (b)(8)). Last day for fiscal committees to meet prior to June 8 (J.R. 61(b)(9)).
     
  Jun. 1-5 Floor session only. No committee may meet for any purpose (J.R. 61(b)(10)).
  Jun. 5 Last day to pass bills out of house of origin (J.R. 61(b)(11)).
  Jun. 8 Committee meetings may resume (J.R. 61(b)(12)).
  Jun. 15 Budget Bill must be passed by midnight (Art. IV, Sec. 12(3)).
     
  July 3 Independence Day observed
  July 10 Last day for policy committees to meet and report bills (J.R. 61(b)(13)).
  July 17 Summer Recess begins upon adjournment, provided Budget Bill has been passed (J.R. 51(b)(2)).
     
  Aug. 17 Legislature reconvenes from Summer Recess (J.R. 51(b)(2)).
  Aug. 28 Last day for fiscal committees to meet and report bills to the floor (J.R. 61 (b)(14)).
  Aug. 31-Sep. 11 Floor session only. No committees, other than conference committees and Rules Committee, may meet for any purpose. (J.R.61(b)(15)).
     
  Sep. 4 Last day to amend bills on the floor (J.R. 61(b)(16)).
  Sep. 7 Labor Day
  Sep. 11

Last day for any bill to be passed. (J.R. 61(a)(14)).
Interim Study Recess begins at the end of this day’s session (J.R. 51(a)(4)).
