Each year PCL sponsors several pieces of legislation which aim to improve California’s environment and protect public health. So far in the 2007-2008 Legislative cycle, PCL has sponsored bills which seek to address how the state manages its water supply and flood control, and which allow the state to buy energy efficient equipment for state owned buildings. We are also working with a broad coalition of environmental and health organizations to advocate for important policy initiates related to air quality in the Central Valley and around the states large ports, land use and global warming, reducing toxics in the products we buy, and preserve wildlife habitat.
These are PCL’s legislative priorities for the 2007-2008 session.
