The Planning and Conservation League (PCL) and the PCL Foundation (PCLF) invite members of the press to attend the 2008 PCL Environmental Legislative Symposium, “State of Change: How Californians Can Change The World,”in Sacramento this Saturday, January 12th.

Print and video journalists will have ample opportunities for interviews with California’s leading environmental experts and policy makers, especially addressing current national and state legislative issues.

Lieutenant Governor John Garamendi will kick off the Symposium with a morning keynote. Attorney General Jerry Brown will present an action agenda on global warming at the noon luncheon, and State Senator Darrell Steinberg will talk about fundamental land use reform at our evening banquet.

The rest of the day will include a multitude of “How To” workshops and policy panels that will help participants meet the environmental, economic, and social equity challenges that confront California today. As is always true, the Symposium will provide participants with the tools they need to be effective environmental advocates at the grassroots and statewide level. The complete program can be reviewed on the PCL website at www.pcl.org.
