The Theme
Tired of hearing about all the doom and gloom associated with our environmental issues? We’ve got the conference for you! At the 2010 Environmental Legislative Symposium, hosted by the Planning and Conservation League (PCL) and PCL Foundation, our panels will focus on solution oriented discussions. Decision makers, business leaders and activists will walk away equipped with the tools needed to make important changes in their community and at the statewide level.
We invite you to attend the 2010 Symposium – “Greening California’s Landscapes: Smart Solutions for a New Era.”
For the past 44 years PCL has been actively creating fresh solutions to address environmental concerns. How can we use our existing water supplies more efficiently? How will we plan for the effects of global warming? What are the tools we can use to preserve our agricultural lands and allow for sustainable developments in the appropriate locations?
Since 1965, PCL and PCLF have been protecting the environment and quality of life for all Californians. With our expertise on water, land use and global warming, and our presence at the Capitol, we serve as an important conduit between our affiliate organizations and state policymakers. On the same note, the PCL Foundation has, since 1972, provided education and training to help decision makers and the public produce quality environmental policy in California.
PCL and PCLF’s dedication to environmental issues has helped formulate some of California’s most important environmental laws. Our present capabilities and fortitude demonstrate we are in this for the long haul to ensure more of California’s landscapes go green.
We’ve never been the ones to sit back and complain about the problem. Instead, we believe our environmental concerns can be addressed with creativity, ingenuity and most importantly action. By combining our individual and collective experiences and solutions we can not only envision a greener landscape, but we will unleash innovative remedies to some of our most critical problems.
The 2010 Symposium will equip participants with the tools to remedy critical environmental concerns!
Greening California’s landscapes means we need to bring the most innovative, creative, out-of-the-box thinkers and experts to the table to solve our water, land use and global warming issues. But, we need experts from all walks of life to contribute to this Symposium. Bring your skills, your ideas and your energy to the Symposium as we contemplate new ideas to move California in a greener direction.
This event will include 15 sessions, including cutting edge policy discussions, MCLE courses, and “How To…” workshops that educate and empower groups and individuals to improve their effectiveness in the environmental movement. Our policy workshops will focus on global warming, water justice, conservation funding, and transition communities. The “How To…” Workshops cover concepts like finding common ground, ensuring youth are engaged in the environmental movement and utilizing social media tools to spread the word. Our MCLE courses will include some of the most relevant and up-to-date information about the laws that govern endangered species, desalination and land use.
We request your leadership to Green California’s landscapes and achieve fresh solutions to old and new problems! Sign up today for the 2010 Symposium.
